Benefits of Swimming

Swimming is one of the best aerobic exercises you can achieve for many different reasons. I’m just going to touch on a few. The reason I choose to write about swimming is because my wife and I have been doing a whole lot more swimming and have seen some great results.

We started swimming a lot more often because for one, my wife has really bad knees from surgery so we cannot go on long hard impacting runs. This no impact exercise is great for her. Unfortunately we had to take a break because of the swimming pool service company that came by to fix our pool. But anyways, that is one great benefit of swimming. So anyone out there who is having knee or ankle or leg related injuries and is looking for an alternative aerobic exercise to running, go for swimming!

Some other great health benefits of swimming

  • Keeps heart rate very active and no impact of body like I mentioned
  • Full body exercise (working arms, legs, and core)
  • Allows you to build endurance, cardiovascular strength and muscle strength
  • Helps maintain health body composition and helps heart and lung capacity
  • Get Toned!

Some other benefits I have notice just from the swimming I have been doing that I really enjoy is being in your own zone. When you’re swimming it’s just you and the water. You can really lose yourself in the moment and really focus on the task at hand. I like to push myself each time to get one more lap in.

The Beauty Of Breast

This Article was of interest to me because I recently became a Father. My son Anthony was brought into this world on April 7th, 2016. Now obviously the main thing that has been on my mind his him and everything about him. How he eats, what’s the best thing for him, why is breast milk so much better?


As a new parent, you have so many questions and don’t even know where to begin because everyone else who is already a parent wants to shove their advice down your throat. (com’on, we all know what I’m talking about)


Well what I find works best is take everyone’s advice with a grain of salt and see what works best for you. Everyone is different and every baby is going to act and take to different things. This crazy thing called parenting is never the same from person to person so there is no reason for you to be any different.


With all that being said, I found this interesting article about the miracle and secret of rich breast milk production. What new research has found is that during lactation production, breast cells develop 2ed nuclei. This research is interesting because this switch from having only one normal nucleus to have 2 nuclei takes place during the moment of lactation to nurture the newborn during feeding.


The female body is adapting in a way to maximize milk production to ensure the newborn is getting the proper nutrition for growth.


I found this research interesting when I can apply it in my own home. Well not at the micro level where I can see the nuclei but I can see the mass production of milk taking place in my wife’s breast. After she pumps they become soft and a couple hours later they are as hard as a rock.


The female composition is truly a amazing and one of God’s finest work. Thank you to each and every mother out there for everything you go through in keeping this species alive.
